Mission Statement

You know, a lot of people say that the internet is causing people to lose touch. They say it’s causing people to not be friendly to one another anymore. With the rise of the social media era, people say that everyone has lost themselves and become a “profile” instead of a person.

I believe this is partly true. However, I don’t believe it HAS to be true. The internet is just like money in that it’s not the object that’s evil, it’s what the people do with it that determines its value. All kinds of information is literally at our fingertips these days.

Instead of spending all day on-line doing senseless activities, we can use it to help us in many ways.

That’s the reason I built this site, to promote community through the internet. We all are living in our respective areas, but a lot of us have no clue what’s going on in our own backyard. Imagine the ability to interact with YOUR community from the comfort of your own home as well as online.

We have to put the power back in the hands of the people. Businesses work for us. The local law enforcement works for us. The government and local council is supposed to work for us.  WE need to know what’s going on with these particular agencies at any given time.

As I said before, the purpose of this site is to put the power into the hands of the people in the community.

Newspapers give news out. The local news station gives news out. Local businesses adverstise their products in the area, but seldom recieve feedback. If you have a bad experience at a local store, who are you going to tell about it? Your friends and relatives right? Well, that will help a few people out, but imagine helping your entire community out by posting about your bad experience where everyone in the community can see? What if you just saw a fantastic deal at a local department store and you wanted to share with everyone about it? This site would be perfect for that! You know for a fact that A LOT of people in the community shop at the same department store, so they’ll return the favor when they’re presented the opportunity. Imagine if you are an active member on this site, and others recognize you and have a “feel” for who you are. If you are holding a yard sale, it’s very likely that you’ll have more customers stop by because they “know” you from the online local community. What if you want to hold a rally? What if you wanted to start a club? What if you were looking for supporters and donations for a little league team? Local businesses can post job opportunities. Or regular peoople can offer opportunities (babysitter, car repair, etc…). Speaking of babysitters, there’s another cool feature about your locally dedicated site. Let’s say you hire someone to babysit and they do a good job. You can then go to the “Rate Your Service” page and leave feedback about your experience with that babysitter (you can leave the info anonymously if need be). Now, when someone needs to hire babysitter, they can go to the service page, read the reivews and make an informed choice. How great is that!?

Remember, this is YOUR community. Take a hold of what is entitled to you. YOU pay rent/mortgage here so YOU should be able to feel well informed and comfortable in your own community.
